Machin exhibition goes to Norway

The exhibition panels from Timeless & Classic: Elizabeth Queen & Icon will go on display at Moss Filatelist Kubb from 23 - 25 November 2007. The panels will be displayed with a selection of items kindly supplied by the Machin Head Society Norway.
Timeless & Classic: Elizabeth Queen & Icon marks the 40th anniversary of Arnold Machin's timeless design, a portrait of The Queen which has since been reproduced more than 200 billion times. The sculptor Arnold Machin produced his portrait in 1967 and it became one of the most enduring and instantly recognisable images of the 20th Century, standing alongside items such as the mini-skirt, telephone box and Mini as enduring British design classics.
This summer a Timeless & Classic: Elizabeth Queen & Icon exhibition was held at the Royal College of Art from July-August. A smaller exhibition, Timeless & Classic: The evolution of Machin's icon, celebrating the 40th anniversary of Machin's design is on display at The Royal Mail Archive in London until April 2008. We are delighted that a section of this exhibition will be displayed in Norway at Moss Filatelist Kubb.
Moss Filatelist Kubb is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. The philatelic exhibition is running from 23 - 25 November 2007 and will be held at the Moss Kunst Galleri. Over 150 display frames will be on show along with a number of trade and postal stands.
Visitors may order their own personal stamps and the postal service will also have First Day covers and new stamps issued on 23 November 2007. This year's special postmark is in honour of the 75th anniversary of Moss Filatelist Kubb and a different postmark will be available for each of the three days of the exhibition. A special cover will be made available each day.
