BPMA Wiki temporarily disabled

On Saturday 12 July 2008 the BPMA Wiki came under attack by forum spambots. The Wikipedia entry on Spambots explains that: 'Forum spambots surf the web, looking for guestbooks, wikis, blogs, forums and any other web forms to submit spam links to the web forms it finds.'
The result was that, for short periods of time on Saturday 12 July 2008, before they were spotted, the BPMA Wiki displayed short messages and sometimes hyperlinks to other websites.
These attacks were occuring throughout the day and the decision was eventually taken to temporarily disable the wiki until such times as we can find a way to ensure that these attacks no longer happen.
The BPMA apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and would like to assure its wiki users that any content that they have so far contributed will be safeguarded. We would also like to apologise for any offence that might have been caused by any of the material that was erroneously posted on the wiki during the short periods before each attack was spotted. These were very unfortunate and beyond our control.
We will endeavour to find a way to return the wiki to full use as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation.
