This exhibition, curated by the BPMA and the Churchill Museum & Cabinet War Rooms, explores the vital role played by the Post Office during the First World War. It tells the stories of postal workers at war and on the Home Front, and examines the essential role played by postal communications.
Exhibition requirements
Size: Up to 50m/150sqm. This consists of eight free standing units, each 800mm wide x 2000mm height. We would encourage venues to contribute objects to the display so size may vary depending on what objects are contributed.
Security: Regular checking
Hire fee: Free
Insurance Value: £10,000
Insurance Responsibility: Venue
Transport Responsibility: Venue
Learning resources: Education packs for primary and secondary school teachers are available to download.
Shop products: Last Post postcard pack is available for venues to sell.
What we can offer you
For host venues, the BPMA will offer the following:
- The exhibition free of charge, with instructions on how to assemble
- Marketing on the BPMA website, blog, and in the BPMA newsletter and events guide where appropriate
- BPMA press release template, logo and credit line
- Learning activities to support the exhibition, if available
- Opportunity to sell related BPMA products, on a sale or return basis
What you will need to have

Venues must cover the insurance of the exhibition - Transport to next venue
This cost, and the associated logistical arrangements, are to be covered by the venue - Marketing / press
Venues are required to logo and line credit the BPMA on all public announcements, press releases, invitations, posters, signs and other promotional material - Approved methods of hanging / display
Venues must follow hanging instructions
