National Stamp Day Cover 2006
Limited edition commemorative cover featuring new National Stamp Day postmark
This is our second commemorative cover. Cover BPMAE-2 bears the new National Stamp Day postmark 6 May 2006. It also carries a first class stamp from HM The Queen’s 80th birthday issue. This links to the BPMA exhibition Elizabeth: Queen & Icon about Her Majesty's life in stamps, which opened in April 2006. Limited edition commemorative cover with Victorian theme
Victorian Innovation was a philatelic exhibition at The Royal Mail Archive, between September 2005 and April 2006. Online highlights can still be seen in our Exhibitions section.
To mark this exhibition, the BPMA issued our first limited edition commemorative cover (110mm x 220mm, 'DL' size). The cover features an illustration of an envelope-making machine at the Great Exhibition of 1851 and is serviced with a special single-date handstamp and a British definitive 1st class stamp. The envelope insert is the Penny Black insert, shown above.
The Victorian Innovation cover will be available from 5 September 2005 until further notice.
