Site Design
This site was designed and developed by Adaptive Technologies Limited (ATL).
Usability & Accessibility
One of the main aims in designing this site was to make it very easy to use by following usability guidelines and conducting user testing.
In order that we may learn more about issues of usability we've added a feedback link to the bottom of every page. You can use this page to express their opinion about the sites design or content.
It's important that every different type of user is able to access information on the net so an effort has been made to ensure the highest possible level of accessibility (for example the site complies with the Web Accessibility Initiative's AAA standard).
Content Management
This site is updated and edited by its owner - the BPMA - rather than a designer. The site can be edited through a browser because it is based on an open source, browser-based content management system (CMS) called Plone.
- Demonstration movies showing how staff edit this site are available (to view these movies you have to have the Flash plugin installed on your computer).
- An essay about the lessons learned during the design and development of this site, giving the BPMA and ATL points of view: Postal heritage and Plone, or: how I learned to stop worrying and love Content Management Systems.
Please contact Adaptive Technologies Limited for a quote if you would like your own fully content managed website.
