Image of 1958 Northern Ireland regional stampPeter Silk, Creative Director of Silk Pearce, marks the issue of this month's Celebrating Northern Ireland miniature sheet, the third in the series of country sheets designed by the company, with a talk on designing for Royal Mail.

The sheet goes on sale on March 11, and features four stamps. The two new Northern Ireland definitive first class stamps show Carrickfergus Castle and the Giant's Causeway, while two special size 78p stamps depict St Patrick on one, and The Queen's Bridge in Belfast with the 'Angel of Thanksgiving' statue, on the other.

Silk Pearce have worked on a number of design projects for Royal Mail, including the 2002 stamp issue to mark the 150th anniversary of the introduction of letterboxes in Britain. Peter Silk will explore the process of creating and developing some of these designs.
